When the Bowen family move into their new home, they quickly realise that it’s severely haunted by evil forces. Their strength and courage is put to the test when their youngest daughter is abducted by the Poltergeist. They do whatever it takes to bring her back into the world of the living.
I did enjoy this fairly solid family horror movie but at the same it leaves you wondering why they even made it in the first place, considering it brings almost nothing new to the table. If anything, it just places the original story in a modern setting; It still has the same family feel, the same humorous characters, most of the same original scenes, and practically the same exact story.
That being said, it’s still a fairly enjoyable and entertaining PG horror film you could watch with your family but I wouldn’t suggest going out of your way to watch it. Perhaps watch it at christmas or better yet… watch the original.
